✧ REGARDING SIGNUPS:
Q: When do sign-ups start? Where do we sign up? How do sign-ups work?
A: Sign-ups will be posted about a month before the start of the concert, after our venues have been finalized and our directors have figured other logistics out. The form will be posted on the Discord server (https://discord.gg/j6K5gKEsQU) and on our blog when it is ready. If it’s not there, expect it to appear over the next few weeks!
Q: Can I make changes to my registration after I've already submitted the form?
A: If you need to change something in your sign up, contact a concert director over Discord and they’ll fix it for you.

Q: Can I play non-classical music?
A: Of course! Feel free to play that one anime opening that got stuck in your head this morning. In fact, the more variety, the better!

Q: My accompanist can't make it, what do I do?
A: No worries! Let us know if you need accompaniment. We will always bring a Bluetooth speaker, so if you wish for accompaniment, we can have it play during your performance.

Q: Are there any requirements for me to sign up?
A: Musicians from all ages are welcome to join. However, there are some qualifications to perform, and they are as follows: Solo - private tutor confirmation. Ensemble - proof of rehearsal of at least 1hr (adult verification, recording, etc.)
✧ REGARDING THE ACTUAL CONCERT:
Q: What should I bring to the concert?
A: For non-piano players, please bring your instrument and sheet music. For piano players, the venue will provide the piano, but you might still have to bring your music. If you have your piece memorized, good for you! You don’t need your music!
* Side note: please bring your own stands!
Q: What should I wear to the concert?
A: Either a white shirt and black pants, or a black dress. If you don’t have these, that’s fine, just make sure you wear something formal that keeps you covered and that won’t make a senior give you a bombastic side eye. For AYLUS members, we recommend you to bring your red shirt for a photo at the end so they don’t take away your precious service hours!
Q: When should I arrive?
A: Any time around 15 to 30 minutes before the concert starts is a good time to come, as you might want to warm up or get ready. The concert directors (Logan, Jeffrey, Nick, Christina) will try to get there 30 minutes early, so you’ll likely find someone there.

Q: Should I wear a mask?
A: We prefer non-wind instrument performers to wear a mask, as we'll be around lots of seniors and don't want them to get sick!

Q: I’ve arrived, and no one is here! What do I do? How do I find everyone?
A: Oops. Uh… we’ll usually send a person to monitor the door but if no one is there, you may want to check in over Discord with a concert director.
Q: Do I have to stay at the concert for the whole time?
A: AYLUS will hate us for this, but we honestly don’t really care if you stay the whole time or not! We do recommend you to stay for the photo at the end, though, since we use it as proof of everyone’s volunteer hours! So…your choice!

Q: I have a last-minute (or not last-minute) issue that just popped up and suddenly I can’t come! What should I do?
A: Please contact either Christina, Logan, Nick, or Jeffrey over on Discord! We totally understand if you can’t make it for any reason because we too are struggling high school students. Just please make sure to let us know ASAP so any major concert changes can be finalized quickly!
✧ REGARDING SERVICE HOURS
Q: How many hours will I receive for performing?
A: Usually, each performer is assigned 4 hours per concert regardless of how unhinged your piece is or how long you practiced. If you feel these service hours don’t accurately reflect how much blood, sweat, and tears you poured into mastering your piece, feel free to appeal to a concert director.
Q: How do I know my hours are valid?
A: We claim our hours by making a post on the official AYLUS Puget Sound branch website, and it is then verified by an admin who grants us our cherished hours.
Q: What do we put for verification contact?
A: Volunteer hour information should be sent out in the Discord server shortly after the concert(s). Typically the verification contact will be someone from the senior home. If you are unsure, ask a concert director.
